Emmeline Pankhurst

Emmeline Pankhurst was a British political activist 1858 – 1928. From Manchester she got women the vote – movement called the suffragettes. 1918 women over 30 with property ownership could vote and then, in 1928 all women could vote the same as men. She had tactics including storming the House of Commons and setting fire to the Prime Minister David Lloyd-George’s house!
