Day 2 – Arundel and Portsmouth

Very jetlagged, we woke up very early this morning. After getting dressed and ready for the day, we got breakfast and then we got on the coaches to make our way to Arundel Castle.

We started by visiting the Gardens, the Chapel and the Keep – and then we entered the actual castle, which was amazing! Students found it huge, elegant and very interesting.

We had a much needed picnic lunch right next to River Arun and then we got back onto the coaches to make our way to Portsmouth.

When we got there, we visited the iconic HMS Victory, a ship that faced many battles, including the Battle of Trafalgar (in which it earned its name!). We were shown how the ship used to work and we learned all about Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson and his men.

Finally, we got back to Cranleigh. We had a great dinner and most of us did sports as voluntary activities before showering and going to bed.

Even though we’re still a bit jetlagged, today was fantastic. We’re having a lovely time at ISCA.
