Day Eight – Harry Potter Studio Tour

Today we had the rare luxury of waking up later. We were super tired after throwing crazy shapes on the dance floor last night! Instead of heading straight to breakfast this morning, we chilled out in our common room and set the scene for the rest of the day by watching some of the Harry Potter movies. We were then treated with a very English ‘Brunch’ (breakfast + lunch = brunch) and we enjoyed sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns, pastries and so much more! We loaded onto the coaches and set off for the Harry Potter Studio Tour.

We were given Passports that had loads of fun activities, and we got cool stamps on each page we completed; we also were looking out for the hidden golden snitches! It was so exciting to explore and learn all about behind the scenes and the making of the movies. We entered into the great hall, which is one of the only sets to be used in all of the films, and had a look at the Gryffindor Common Room, and Dumbledore’s office. We even got a chance to fly on a broomstick!!

After a snack and of course a Butterbeer, we went to see Privet Drive, Gringotts Bank and the huge replica model of Hogwarts castle! We had so much fun exploring the gift shop at the end of the tour, we bought lots of souvenirs and also lots of chocolate frogs!

We finished off our exciting day with the long anticipated staff vs student cricket match. Great effort was put in from both sides, with some fantastic student batting and staff fielding. The students finished batting with a score of 99, look out for the staff score later in the week.
