Independent Schools Cultural Alliance - ISCA – Summer Programs in the UK

Day Four – Our First On-Campus Day

Today was the first of five on-campus days where we do various sports and activities. The agenda for today was netball, cricket, rugby, football (or soccer) and workshops on Canterbury.

Many of the students had no idea how to play netball, cricket and rugby but they all embraced each sport and enjoyed learning new skills together as one team.

To the ISCA staff’s surprise, their competitive spirits truly came out in force during the netball session, there were a lot of students who played rugby like it was their second nature, many cricket balls were hit way past the fielders and in the Canterbury workshop we saw some budding actors who all re-enacted the murder of Saint Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury between 1162 and 1170.

The aim of the workshop was to give the students an insight into the place we are visiting tomorrow – Canterbury. And it worked, they all seemed to have grasped where they’re going and really looking forward to exploring the beautiful streets of one of England’s most historic cities!
