Independent Schools Cultural Alliance - ISCA – Summer Programs in the UK

Day Sixteen – ISCA Olympics

Today was a beautiful day – not a cloud in the sky and very hot. The students enjoyed a lie in until 8:30am after the two big day trips earlier this week and trooped to breakfast for 9:00am.

Today was the ISCA Olympic games! The staff split all of the students into teams to represent countries such as Swaziland, East Timor, France, Tibet and more. Each ISCA staff member then led a group to compete in various events. The students played mini golf, ran the 60m sprint, threw a rugby ball as far as they could, dribbled footballs and hockey balls, bowled cricket balls and completed an obstacle course. The sun was hot but the students were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

After lunch came the staff vs student football game! The staff as well as the students had so much fun! The results in the end were 3-3 in the first game and the staff lost 2-0 in the second.

A few showers and several litres of water later, we all ate dinner and began the voluntary activities for the night.

Tuesday was a wonderful, fun day in the sun. We’re all looking forward to a day in Oxford tomorrow.
