ISCA Scotland Day Three – Edinburgh Old Town
Today we ventured into Edinburgh Old Town, first exploring the 11th century castle before walking along the cobbled streets of the Royal Mile. Along the way the students found out about St Giles Cathedral and the National Covenant, the Mercat Cross, the Scottish Parliament and Harry Potter in Edinburgh whilst also exploring the narrow closes and wynds and areas such as the Grassmarket and Canongate. We ended up visiting the National Museum of Scotland and looking at all the magnificent exhibitions before heading back to the hotel to relax.
This evening we took part in the Edinburgh Torchlight Procession, walking from the North Bridge and snaking along the Royal Mile to the bottom at Holyrood Park. It was a magical evening and a once in a lifetime experience for many of our ISCA students!
